Instagram launches TikTok-like text-to-speech and voice effects for Reels
Instagram has added two functions to Reels: text-to-speech and voice effect. These features are already popular on TikTok, but now creators can also use them on Instagram. This marks another effort made by Instagram to keep up with TikTok in terms of short videos.Text-to-speech is a necessary accessibility feature to help blind and low-vision people understand written text. But videos with these robot voices became so popular on TikTok that the voice actor behind the feature sued the company because she did not give the company permission to use its recordings. After she filed a lawsuit, TikTok changed the voice behind the feature. The voice effect will make the user's Reels more creative. These features allow it to modify the audio or dubbing in the post. To see these effects, users need to click on the notes and open the audio mixer after recording their own Reel. Then you will see an effect menu, which allows users to modify their own Reel or the audio in the dubbing. These new features are now being rolled out to Instagram mobile users.
