I got PawScout after the first time my kitten got out. He is special needs and really can’t be outside. About two weeks later he got out again and as I’m writing this review is still missing, I will get to that in a bit. I put out his picture and my contact information anywhere I could for free. Then I got a notification reading “Great news - somebody found (cats name). We passed your contact information along - the rescuer should be in contact soon.” I was so hopeful and it was the first time I felt that he could been safe while not being with me. I also checked the locator part and it said that he had come within 300 feet of me about 2 hours ago. So naturally I stopped everything and went looking for him where it said he was. I am aware that bluetooth based connections aren’t the most accurate but I felt quite hopeless when we couldn’t find him at that spot. I would like to clarify to future purchasers that this is not always the most accurate and while it is very helpful you must ke...

I looked a long time for a smart pet tag for our cat. This one was smaller than most, for a reasonable one time cost. Best of all, you can sign up Guardians to be able to check on your pet also, and the battery is replaceable. The only down side is that if you have a problem it may take a while for customer service to get back to you. We found our tag did not post to the map when we were evacuating from hurricane Florence. It took 19 hours for their first response. The issue was esculated to engineering techs but after a couple of days we contacted then again to get them to finally respond. They then sent instructions which easily resolved the issue. This delay is pretty normal I guess. It just was frustrating in our emergency situation and made me concerned that if our cat had been missing it would have been days before we could have tracked him down while we waited on the company to respond. Yet, at least they respond at all. I love that they email our cat by name.

Purchased 9 days ago. Got a low battery notification for the 2ND BATTERY. finally came to my senses and threw it away. In the OUTSIDE trash bin. My kitchen trash can would’ve been too good for it. The custom name plate will be going in the trash too but Id be willing to bet money that it won’t get delivered. I wasn’t expecting much for the suspiciously low price but I thought it would at least do everything the box said it could do. I’d compare it to a happy meal toy from McDonald’s but at least happy meal toys don’t give you a false sense of security in those first few critical moments after loosing a pet. My house is 30’ from corner to corner and yet the collar says it’s out of range almost 100% of the time. The distance estimator jumps back and forth 20-70 feet at a time. Even when he’s asleep in his kennel at the foot of my bed. I’m starting to think it’s just a random number generator. I wish the packaging was more clear about the need for your neighbors to have the app on the...

I picked 2 of these up from the local Walmart for our 2 boy kittens we found in our barn wall. They sleep in the house at night and come in a couple times in the day, but for the most part they are out running a muck! (We have a small property out in country, so lots of land to roam) There have only been 2-3 times where they didn’t come in at bedtime when called for. These lil devices give me peace of mind and are able to show their last known location inside the Bluetooth range. Sometimes if I get worried or it’s getting late I ‘enable the fence’ which alerts me immediately when they step back in to the Bluetooth range. We are going on month 4 with the original batteries. We even got out elderly neighbor one for her doggo! And the more neighbors that have this app, the broader range it gives you! A big plus for us as we all live atleast a quarter mile - 1/2 mile away from each other.
