Description
ESS Mobile is a smart, adaptive app that, when used with your employer's Attendance on Demand system, provides employees with flexible time tracking options. You have access to the information needed to track your hours worked and review schedules or benefit balances. Notifications can be sent when your time card needs action, such as the addition of a missing punch. Messages can be exchanged with your supervisor to record attendance-related activities like an absence or if you will be late for your shift. Using ESS Mobile hourly employees may be able to punch in and out, request time off, or enter tips. For employees that simply report total hours worked multiple time sheet views are available. Additional operations such as entering mileage, expenses, or tips are also available. Contact your payroll administrator or Attendance on Demand service provider for additional details. Note: ESS Mobile uses location services to obtain your location during app usage. Continued use of the app or background GPS tracking can dramatically decrease battery life.

Please add the ability for managers to accept or decline late in/early out requests. If I request a vacation, it’s easy to see if it’s been approved or denied. But if I need an early off, there is no way for managers to approve or deny them within the app. This makes it difficult to plan ahead as most often, managers forget to communicate approval or denial via email or phone and the employee has to make multiple inquiries to find out if they were approved or not. It’s not your fault that my managers may fail to communicate, but you have included an in app approval process for vacations. Please do so for this as well. Will upgrade to 3 stars if implemented. Thank you

It used to keep me logged in, now for some reason I have to log in each time I want to use the app. It’s super annoying. And there’s no setting to change this. Please fix this

Lets just say it is “Flawed”. If I was to set out to pay an engineer to design an app that is the most unintuitive app I could have them build, then I would hire the person or team that designed this app. Using a “hamburger dropdown” to transfer to another job after scrolling through to operations? Why? How about put the transfer and the punch in or out in the exact same spot on the same page? When selecting a job, why can I only see 2-3 jobs? How about fix the scrolling and use the entire page? And I do not know who decided that you can just deduct lunch break automatically, but there are laws that say otherwise! I will be submitting this to the BBB and likely speaking with my attorney about this.

You’d think that a company with a responsive, well designed website would hire a programmer to provide a better app solution that what is available. The app is garbage. It has an old iOS look/feel and not friendly at all. Why with all the advanced authentication that we have now, do I still have to manually log in EVERY TIME to this app to clock in and out? Can we not put a remember me checkbox or something? Put some effort into it please.

The host of problems that are this app…Full disclosure, I’ve tried this on two different phones. The most recent is brand new. All of my other apps are working great! Reasons to avoid using this app: -It might open or the app might just sit there and spin wasting your time. -The app requires THREE taps to clock in…if you don’t tap the screen just right, it won’t clock you in. -The app may automatically log you out without tapping anything. -The app will NOT let you clock in to a new job within the same minute of a clock out forcing you to wait until a new time is displayed. -The time card administrator needs to continually monitor and adjust mistakes. -This app is high maintenance!!!
