Description
Canada’s Oceans Protection Plan objectives are to help keep Canadians waters and coasts safe and clean, for today's use and for future generations. As part, of the Plan, Transport Canada is funding the Enhanced Maritime Situational Awareness (EMSA-CASM) system. EMSA-CASM provides Indigenous and coastal communities as well as other users with near real-time information on maritime activity in Canadian waters, along with other geospatial information to support marine safety, environmental protection, maritime activity, and local knowledge. Public users can use the EMSA-CASM Mobile Application to contribute to the EMSA-CASM Observations repository, or connect to the EMSA-CASM platform, to access additional mobile-enabled web applications according to their permissions. This allows them to navigate and add information with a few taps while out in the field. It gives access to the following features: ► View, create, and edit observations that have multiple attributes; ► Locate yourself on the map and share this location; ► Use online and offline. Contributions made by users are synchronized with the EMSA-CASM server and shared with other stakeholders.
